Mythic Hellfire Assault

Mythic Hellfire Assault, the first boss of Warlord of Draenor’s latest, and last raid of this expansion, is a clinic in the most basic aspect of playing World of Warcraft … turn on enemy nameplates. I started this website to teach amateurs to play the game with enemy nameplates in the ON position.
Mythic Hellfire Assault is an add priority fight … Hulking Beserker > Warlock, except when Metamorphasis occurs, then the warlock is the priority. Siege engines need to be downed quickly.
The challenge in Mythic, opposed to Heroic/Normal is a formation change. Half the raid to the right, half the raid to the left, maintaining add priority. A transport and crusher will appear after the first raid split, you’ll use Time Warp, and make sure you down the crusher (huge damage on the cannons) and transport (spawns lots of adds). The mini bosses then appear, watch your feet for the fire … you’ll down the mini bosses, down the adds in the right priority, then split again … rinse and repeat.
We downed this mythic boss in less than 25 pulls. Maintain your add priority and mythic bosses die a lot faster and easier with enemy nameplates in the ON position.
That is all.

One must actually write if one desires to be a writer.
Data and photographs. The internet is a wonderful place to bring them together. I got my first set of data from Heroic HFC today. Frost mage parses, iLvl 700. In my pvp gear (I have iLvl 700 and iLvl 685 trinkets from Heroic Blackrock Foundry). The past is the past, I’m not trying to be a WoW historian. It’s all about today. And the future.
I’m going to be writing about some AmazinglyLeet things in the near future. I could write a lot about my AmazinglyLeet EuroTrip 3 years ago. 89 days, because on a United States of America passport, you’re good for 90 days every 180 in the Eurozone on a tourist visa.
The data wasn’t pretty. 43k on Heroic Hellfire Assault. 26k on Iron Reaver where our PuG group wiped twice before the kill. 36k on Kormok, a two shot. I have now killed these 3 bosses in HFC (H) a total of two times. 15th percentile on Kormok. 26th percentile on Hellfire Assault, a green parse, and 15th percentile on Iron Reaver. These are my DPS numbers.
You can go read the data. My first data set for HFC because for 13 weeks, I’ve been laying low concentrating on getting 1700 conquest points per week. I’m behind on fight knowledge and gear. Documenting my progression through HFC. Goals.
Cross Realm game play. Another game changer in Warlords of Draenor. The capability to cross server up to 30 man heroic content. iLvl 705 gear. I transferred to Thrall for mythic content. It’s so difficult. Do I have what it takes for mythic progression? I have to find a team on Thrall and it won’t be difficult. It’s a large horde PvE server in population. There’s 20 teams with mythic kills already. Another 2-3 dozen guilds with 12 or 13 (of 13 bosses) on heroic.
I don’t want to be carried. I want to earn my spot. Get carried on the 13/13 Heroic spank runs in a single raid night because I’m behind on gear and my personal progression is 4/13 (H). No normal kills. The PvP gear got me to the iLvl requirements for heroic and I learn quickly. I one shotted Heroic Council. My first time seeing the fight … and we killed the boss with 11/15 alive. I didn’t run logs last night. I was there to see as many fights as possible and hopefully get some gear. 2 pieces of iLvl 705 gear and my first Tomes for the legendary quest line for a ring this expansion. Last expansion it was a cloak. Oh my how the legendary quest line has changed in 11 years. Molten Core. Black Temple. Access to outstanding gear for the “casual player”. 38 days played at this level as Frost Mage. I played a little fire in BrF because the guild leader made me … 50th percentile DPS as fire mage equaling roughly 50k in the BrF AoE boss fights compared to 99th percentile frost mage equaling roughly 35k. Imbalance. It was too tilted in the different mage specs.
QQ more PvP community. Frost Mage isn’t getting touched in 6.2. The buff to ice lance, frost bolt, and frostfire bolt were badly needed … for balance … Balance between PvE specs for each class. I’ve seen a lot of Frost Mages on the first 4 bosses of Heroic HFC. Ice Nova hurts. I thought if there was a nerf coming in 6.2, it would be to Ice Nova. a 3 second cooldown each time it’s used. The back to back Ice Nova’s with Deep Freeze then Pet Freeze … it hurts. 100k with 33k multistrike, back to back because of critical strike RNG? Your tears are so salty.
Frost Mage in Warlords of Draenor 6.2

We’re 5 weeks in Warlords of Draenor PvP Season 2. Weapon week for the “average” PvPer … we weren’t in the tournament so blizzard didn’t give us our gear. We had to earn it. Proper conquest management should have the average PvPer with the Season 2 Wild Gladiator weapon and 2000 saved conquest because you aren’t greedy and did not purchase a second piece this week and will have enough for a 2250 piece next week. You haven’t earned a single point of extra conquest in rated bgs or Arena 3s …. you’ve made sure you’ve done what you’ve had to do each week to make 1700 conquest including the 200 bonus from Ashran. Maybe you got some good RNG on the Ashran box with a piece of gear. You’ve given up 4 piece bonus for now for the extra iLvl and Versatility. You didn’t sell out the horde because Alliance racials are so OP’d. You’re an average PvPer.
Frost Mage in Season 2 is excellent. PvP iLvl 721 … poor box RNG and I haven’t capped 3 rated bg wins for the gear box, the quest was bugged the first week of the season and my 4 rated bg wins didn’t count. I have little patience for rated bgs. Too structured. All the dps on the same target and you’re a 1500 rated team. Throw in some crowd control and you’re 1750. Throw in coordinated and timely CC you’re 2k plus.
How is skill judged? Data?
Heroic Beastlord Frost Mage Rankings. 4th of 15,792 parses.
Heroic Operator Thogar Frost Mage Rankings. 11th of 10,700 parses. So few because fire mage was BRF fotm and RastaJay never plays flavor of the month. RastaJay plays Frost Mage. At a high level. In PvE. 1750 in 2s 1550 in 3s 1750 in rated bgs (past seasons).
Evidence of Frost Mage talent in Warlords of Draenor. PvE.
The class is benefiting from the much needed boost in 6.2, more mastery, frostbolt and frostfire bolt hitting harder. Ice Lance hitting harder. And Ice Nova, qq more, because Blizzard had to do something to balance the class … mage … because 99th percentile Frost Mage Damage in Heroic Blackrock Furnace was 35k. 50th percentile DPS for fire mage on the AoE fights was 55k. 50th percentile Arcane Mage, single target, was 45k. You know how much grief I took for playing Frost Mage in Heroic BRF? 36k on Heroic Blackhand. It was a solid number. I pugged heroic 9/10, server transferred to Thrall because it’s a high population horde server, found a 10/10 heroic spank squad and wiped on Mythic Beastlord for 4 weeks. Mythic is difficult. I never got a true shot at mythic progression where the mobility of the Frost Mage was coveted. Mobile DPS. Ranged. It’s a role. and 19 others have to be doing things well for mythic progression.
The same hold true for PvP Progression. In 3s, where you can earn some legitimacy in the PvP community requires three people working together. Both DPS on the same target is 1550. Throw in some CC basics, 1750. Coordinated CC and DPS timing on cooldowns on the same target equals 2k plus. Team composition is important. I want to 3s with a shadow priest and a resto druid. I want to 3s with a disc priest and properly spec’d rogue.
At the end of Warlords of Draenor Season 2, I’ll have a 3s rating.
And maybe some mythic gear. This PvP season is short. This tier for the PvE community is going to be very long.
Tier 18, Hellfire Citadel, I passed. Concentrated on Season 2 to gather more evidence on being the most complete Frost Mage in the world. Venruki is the best Frost Mage in the world. At PvP. A solid resume. However, he’s lacking PvE data. My PvE data is solid. Do Venruki’s PvP achievements when stacked against the PvE Achievements of this writer create some balance?
2k 3s data is the goal.
Frost Mage PvP skill evidence. Sure, its random bgs. Where I practice advanced tactics. Polymorph. Ring of Frost. SpellSteal. CounterSpell. Crowd Control is the Frost Mage’s primary concern in 3s and rated BGs, not DPS. Total Damage Done. An Ice Nova Rated BG Frost Mage is going to use the massive burst PvP damage at the right time and the target is going to be dead … you can’t tick damage on something that isn’t in the game anymore because they are rezzing at the graveyard. Plus, I’m busy sheeping one of the healers and counterspelling another. I’m putting down ring of frost where their melee DPS is concentrating on one of our healers. I come in on the kill target at the right time with deep freeze, ice nova, pet freezing trap, ice nova, ice lance, brain freeze … its hurts and it hurts very quickly.
Iron Maidens DPS Meter

Comments Off on Iron Maidens DPS Meter
As a Frost Mage, I’m challenged by the deftness of fire specialization in the AoE Fights in Blackrock Foundry at the Heroic Difficulty. It’s almost required one be a fire spec mage for Beastlord Darmac, Blast Furnace, Iron Maidens, and Kromog. People pay so much attention to a single Tab of either recount or skada … DPS … they forget what mythic progression is really about. Instance appropriate DPS the entire fight … from the start of the fight to the end of the fight.
Below is the link to a PuG Heroic Maidens kill.
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/ybx349WXmKLZBNcg#type=deaths
1 person died to bombs. The fail mechanic on Iron Maidens … meaning you’re going to get kicked out of your PuG if you continuously fail to this mechanic … and and an amazinglyleet number of people died to turrets … five!!!
Now, if you’re skilled in life you can use the new window on your computer and sort through the data … and find Damage Done.
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/ybx349WXmKLZBNcg#type=damage-done
Along with 2 numbers for DPS. These numbers are what they are … Damage Done …. it’s the number that matters. Active Time. And enough DPS being alive …. 9 people did 30k (plus) DPS, the number I believe needed for Heroic BRF Progression.
I played fire on this fight because I had to learn it again. Bottom line is, this is RastaJay, Frost Mage, its what I play. And at iLvl 687, frost bomb may be enough to get me by in the AOE fights because there’s no question when I earn Blackhand AOTC, I will be downing him in frost spec.
I play frost mage at a high level. Mobile Ranged DPS. Flamethrowers on Brackenspore. Orbs on Ko’Ragh. Captain of the Boat Team on Maidens, although I do bombs really well and boat teams are already established for the organizations I’m looking to join.
I server transferred. US-Dalaran, you don’t have a single organization 1/10 (M) in Blackrock Furnace, horde side, on the entire server … and there are a total of 2 organizations with enough people to even attempt Mythic Content in WoD. There wasn’t enough opportunity and I wasn’t going to join the other 20 man Mythic Fails squad on the server because mythic progression on US-Dalaran, horde side, doesn’t exist. And don’t blame server population … there’s a lot more horde evenly split with alliance on the server than you think … blame the fact it’s populated by new players to the game because dalaran pops up first when they create a new account. Watching another influx on new players trying to put together 10 to 15 man normal progression raid teams made me realize the only answer to attempting mythic progression was a server transfer.
I chose US-Thrall. A lot of opportunity. I have an opportunity tonight. And when you google RastaJay + WoW … maybe to check my armory, I’ve created some things that google gives an opportunity to read.
The kind of ranged dps who switches to the Cinder Wolf with less health after the switch from melee on Flamebender. I’ll iceblock molten torrent if I can. Sometimes twice. I don’t stand in the lava slash and try to be standing in a good place as ranged if selected for this mechanic. Sadly, amp magic is taken away … too op’d at the pvp level …
The kind of ranged DPS who stopped getting hit by stampers on Hans + Franz after a couple pulls. Stopped getting hit by trains after a few pulls. Stopped dying to the bomb phase on Maidens (because fire mage is horrific for boat duty) … mobile, ranged dps … after a few pulls. I don’t get pinned on Beastlord … I dodge the rings on Kromog (and put some heavy AOE dps on the hands) …. and I’m DPSing the right add at the right time on Blast Furnace.
The kind of ranged DPS who interrupts and stuns the Furnace Engineer (3rd Bellow Operator at phase anyone??) … spellsteals the man at arms, counterspell the fire mender on a focus target macro … i’ll sheep a trash add like a motherfucker and ring of the frost the rest of ’em …. these are some intangibles of what I bring to a 20 man mythic progression team.
The logs I’ve created this past week aren’t overwhelming. 16th percentile. 25th percentile.
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/ybx349WXmKLZBNcg#type=damage-taken
Finally, a look at the Damage Taken for Heroic Maidens kill. Not a single point of damage from bomb dodging portions of the fight.
Oh yeah, I did 37k DPS on the fight. The entire fight. From start to finish … so while 7 of you died … the 20 of us progressed and you have the opportunity to be better next week.
Here’s hoping US-Thrall leads me down the road of Mythic Content. And here’s to hoping tonight’s raid is being logged by someone because my system really can’t handle it. The data is what it is … and I have a theory … the more one pays attention to the DPS Tab in Recount/Skada, the fewer mythic bosses they kill.
The Drama of Dalaran

I “tried out” with 6 people from my server trying to put together a 20 man mythic team. R.I.P needing 20 people from the same server for Mythic Progression.
I did 18k DPS on Heroic Brackenspore with this group. It was considered “sub-par” and it is … 20k DPS is the minimum for heroic bosses.
I provided some “data” on this thread regarding the Heroic Brackenspore pull in question.
You can read the posts back from the #2 guild on my server and these clowns thinking they have what it takes for Mythic Progression.
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/15700314477
1. 18k is what you would expect to see on Normal Brackenspore. You sir, are correct.
2. Yes, I had to use my frozen orb on the spore shooters because no one else was on them and I had to ice block because they spawned so far away I wasn’t under the healing green mushroom. You’re saying, “spin my frozen orb into the boss and add … sure, I would get more DPS, but it’s not on the correct target. 18k on the correct targets > 25k tunneled on the boss.
3. Comet Storm should never be used as a level 100 talent. The DPS for this talent, on the run, every 30 seconds, > the dps increase every 90 seconds, having to stand still … this is mythic progression we are discussing … and I sacrifice DPS numbers for mobility.
4. All my other points are irrelevant? What about lust NOT being used at the correct time and every single one of my dps hammer abilities on cooldown. That’s irrelevant? What about the formation being incorrect and ranged having to take down the mind fungus? What about the mind fungus not going down quickly enough and standing through 3-4 casts slowed? That’s irrelevant?
5. You completely ignore the data provided in the thread. 18k, on the correct target, standing in the correct place, > 25k tunneled on the boss … for this fight.
6. iLvl 663 … I’m wearing 6 pieces of 660 conquest gear which does NOT scale the same way iLvl 655 PvE gear scales … I passed on all these drops for 6 weeks now because I had 660 gear. SimDps. Rofl. Again I ask, is there a SimDamage Taken? Because I finished dead last out of your crew of cross server flunkies in damage taken that fight.
Anyone who takes this game seriously enough for Mythic Progression recognizes the truth here … 18k DPS, on the right target, standing in the right place > 25k … which the data shows wasn’t put in the correct place. Damage Meter whoring is the single point that will prevent Mythic Progression.
The DPS who know where to stand, know the target to attack, can put DPS on the boss while on the run = mythic progression in Warlords of Draenor.
My 22k on heroic bosses, standing in the right place, on the correct target = dead bosses.
Tunneling on the boss, not practicing formation and mechanics on EVERY encounter, regardless of difficulty = mythic frustration opposed to mythic progression.
There isn’t a single organization on Dalaran Horde side who will get Mythic Brackenspore. Mythic Progression is Kargath, Twins, then Brackenspore.
Keep using your SimDps Meter to evaluate talent. WoW Progress will inform me about how this goes.
and God Bless Open Raid … where there’s a dozen people putting together Mythic Progression teams, cross server. I have the discipline to be one of the ranged DPS on these mythic progression teams. Mobile Ranged DPS. Sacrificing a little bit on the damage meter because mobility is more important. I focus on the Damage Taken tab of Recount because mythic DPS is just as much about NOT taking damage as it is doing damage.
Lets recap … you didn’t lust at the right time, you’re flame thrower people were horrible, the mind fungus spawned outside of melee, only 2 of your ranged dps were on the spore shooters, and it was almost a wipe when you factor in all these factors.
The 18k DPS was start to finish on the fight. on the correct targets. from the correct position.
But hey, I’m the baddie because my iLvl is 663 and some simulation says that was 7k short. RoFL.
Warlord of Draenor Garrisons & Followers – A True Game Changer

Comments Off on Warlord of Draenor Garrisons & Followers – A True Game Changer
The Follower Meta Game in Warlords of Draenor is brand new and isn’t the easiest system to grasp right out of the gate.
I’ve leveled three toons from 90-100. A fourth is 98. A 5th garrison is semi operational at level 91. I have some experience I can share and perhaps make your life easier.
Which followers are the best? Which buildings are the best?
Blizzard’s 5th expansion in the World of Warcraft allows 20 followers. Increased to 25 with level 3 barracks which is 1200 garrison resources. I run light on garrison resources because I wasted so many figuring out which buildings I needed based on play style and this feature, garrisons & followers, are brand new.
Sure, you have your beta crowd but we’re 8 weeks into the release and it’s 2015 … more knowledge on the actual content has been developed.
This 3 minute video attempts to educate. It’s a video … here, I can link the video and write subject matter. YouTube Channel and Website working in tandem in an attempt to make someone’s life out there just a little bit easier because they took 3 minutes to watch the video in it’s entirety. I need to change the categories on the site … sigh, one project inspires another.
Garrison Building Must Haves
1. Barn – you have to be producing Savage Blood yourself. Expect 2-3 weeks from the time you build a barn and actually produce a Savage Blood.
2. Barracks – the follower mission rewards too good
3. War Mill – the followers need to be upgraded for the really too good stuff. Properly managed followers combined with end game raiding success are producing iLvl 670 gear from Follower Missions. You have my attention Blizz because there were a bunch of other new things to learn and I didn’t realize just how good and useful the mission rewards … gold, follower experience, gear – draenic dust anyone?, honor, bonus roll tokens, other followers, weapon/armor upgrades for your followers, legendary quest items (some of the 125 most people need to progress in the legendary ring quest line) … it’s simply too useful to not be participating 100%. And hey, thank blizzard, I was tired clicking on a blue ! collecting, eliminating, doing X number of this, that, and the other, then clicking on the yellow ? … I appreciate the new style dailies you’ve been making me do since Burning Crusade … I did them because I wanted the associated gear or recipe. I do them now because they’re kind of fun and I want what they have to offer … iLvl 670 Heroic Gear as Follower Mission Rewards.
Both your large plots are taken … 2 medium plots remain. plus you’re 3 small plots (professions may take 2 plots).
Follower Abilities Must Haves
1. Magic DeBuff – Apparently there’s 3 of 48 potential followers with this ability. Priest Ishaal in the video is one of them. Another is a follower mission reward … and apparently there’s some problems if you somehow failed this mission.
2. Wild Aggression – I found myself light on this ability based on “naturally” acquiring 20 followers. Tormmok has this ability, the video shows you where and how to get him.
3. Tailoring – I had to use the world wide web to learn about Pleasure Bot 8000. He was in a quest area off the beaten path, easy to miss like the two mentioned above. And, this follower has Timed Battle as it’s Ability. When I increased my follower limit to 25, I went and found the information needed for these 3 abilities.
And, an engineering profession follower, there may be only 1, I’m not sure, I don’t have an engineer … it’s an 11th profession and 6th toon. I’ll pass Blizz, but I am interested in the 3 new professions introduced to replace the gathering professions. Skinning is unique though.
Do the follower missions. Use garrison resources on War Mill work orders. Try to upgrade strategically. You probably don’t need both your Magic DeBuff followers at iLvl 650 while your only timed battle follower is at iLvl 620 decreasing the odds on truly wonderful mission rewards. Apparently when my guild kills 3 more Heroic Bosses and the total is 15, iLvl 695 Mythic Gear is the reward even though we haven’t downed a Mythic Boss.
It’s an attention grabber. And Warlords of Draenor is a game changer for the franchise. You made good gear more tangible for all of azeroth. You really worked in PvP gear well with the new structure, the 5 iLvl 660 Conquest Pieces in my iLvl 658 PvE set, draw some envy. Quiet envy. You upped the mechanics in raid encounters. Certainly in Heroic encounters. You reintroduced 40 v 40 PvP which is a clinic on user interface. Which team of 40 has more pros who can tell the difference between a healing shaman and elemental shaman (in Ashran & Southshore).
Only you can be honest with yourself and answer truthfully … when I’m in Southshore or Ashran, can I tell the difference between a holy priest and disc priest? can I tell the difference between resto druid and boomkin – glyphed so it doesn’t show the owl form, restoration shaman or elemental shaman? Is my screen just a big patch of floating green names, 40 on each side?
Enemy Nameplates in the “On” position … with class color checked … the Add On Healers Have to Die and perhaps you’re a bit more “raid ready” and in the smaller pvp encounters … oh, that’s the healer … producing “raid ready” gear, perhaps there’s more people exploring the other half of their classes rotation and abilities.
The franchise has always been two games … PvE and PvP. The balance people have bitched about for 8 years is between these two play styles … and yes, they have different rotations, different glyphs, different talents …
And the franchise did well with this one. We’ll see what the future holds. Blackrock Foundry is a mere 3 weeks away.
Does my organization have what it takes to be a Mythic Progression Guild?
Hey Boss, do you doubt my Ko’Ragh encounter expertise? Read This.
Hey Boss, if you read it and watched the video in it’s entirety …
1. How many pulls at the normal and heroic level would this have saved? 30 might be a generous number. 4 kills on Normal Difficulty plus the Heroic debacle night where your 20 man mythic team wiped to trash then got their ass spanked by Ko’ragh’s Add Phase for 3.5 hours. First normal kill was 3 hours of wiping. 2 full raid nights. How many total pulls have we had as an organization? 45?
The facts in life are sometimes difficult boss.
2. How many pulls will it take to down this boss on Heroic Difficulty? How many pulls are saved if we have a ranged and healer stack on the add tank when the 3rd round of adds spawn starting from the beginning? Why do we have to spend the 5 pulls learning?
And hey boss, I’m just happy to be getting EP … there’s 10 people on our 30 man heroic waiting list, we’re a long way from being Mythic ready (boss, we need runs of 6/7 (H) to even have a shot at 2/7 (M). We’re dying to Heroic Twins because of the dodging fire positioning problem, dying on Heroic Brackenspore because ranged doesn’t want to stack with melee under green mushrooms … we can’t even get back to K0’ragh and when we wipe on Tectus during second transition because ranged and melee didn’t move TO the Spawn Tank … you’re banging your head against the wall unnecessarily.
Ko’Ragh Add Phase

Dear Raid Leader,
It was raid night and I was left out. It’s okay. I’ve just returned from an 11 month absence from raiding in your guild … 5/7 (H), 30 person, max difficulty and max people for normal and heroic raid progression in World of WarCraft’s newest expansion Warlords of Draenor which is entering roughly it’s 8th week of release. It’s excellent. I’ve been there for some of the kills and I’ve missed some of the kills. As a guild, we’re 7/7 (N), roughly 30 person difficulty because at some point the people who make too many of the easy mistakes to avoid … this is called taking unnecessary raid damage … too often had to sit and Imperator Mar’gok is difficult.
And hey boss, I’m here to help.
And, you’re trying to shave the raid to 20 person for Mythic Progression. Blizzard really mixed it up with their latest release. So people have to sit.
And we’re a good group. We can get this and elevate ourselves to the next level with less frustration. Our 20 man team wiping on Heroic Ko’Ragh for 15 attempts was difficult to hear.
Ko’Ragh, is a difficult encounter when you take into account the types of mechanics represented in the fight Spread out at least XXXX number of another person … with 20 people at the Mythic Difficulty level … there’s specialized ranged responsibilities, don’t stand in the circle and move together as a group combined, and an add phase. At the Heroic level, the add phase has the aggro table reduced. During Ko’Ragh, regardless of diffulty, during the add phase, ranged DPS stay on the boss until the adds are closer to the boss. Melee stays on the boss, however, a few good aoe melee should join the tank inside the suppression circle for the final kill on several adds to make sure said tank doesn’t stand in there too long.
Will this work on Heroic? Time will tell but it’s how we handled Normal Ko’ragh on our 3rd kill as a guild, a one shot, yet we were sloppy on the stack during the Trampling phase of the fight. Ko’ragh at normal difficulty doesn’t require the same discipline as Heroic or Mythic. But hey boss, let’s practice like we’re going to play. At heroic and mythic level, the adds need to go down quicker.
The adds have to go down inside the circle regardless of difficulty. There can’t be any aoe DPS going out at Heroic or above because you’re going to aggro the adds toward you instead of where they’re suppose to go.
Ranged stack on the add tank, keep DPS on the boss, then help with add stragglers … bring them to the add tank. Melee find a way to get some dps on the adds … stack with ranged at the Add Tank so if you aggro one they move to where they need to be. This stack is going to be key in Mythic success for this boss. I think.
I made this video of our normal attempt success … it helped our organization. Maybe slower than I wanted and maybe it helped others out there because I picked up one of the key mechanics on Ko’ragh … placement of the suppression fields. And you don’t want the boss running all over the room. After the Expel Magic:Fire portion, ranged needs to stack close to melee so the boss turns around takes a step at the most and places a suppression field. Ranged and melee moving as a group to the right and you have to remember to spread out for the fire phase.
Then his shield drops and Ko’Ragh’s add phase begins. All dps stays on the boss while the adds come in 3 waves … the Add Tank needs to round up then take them into the suppression for an aoe burn by as much dps as possible, ranged and melee. At Heroic and Mythic difficulty, you gotta find a way to get more melee DPS on the adds.
Shield recharges, spread out of the fire, then stack again … ranged and melee fairly close together. Place the suppression field, watch out for the frozen orb, and this boss is going down for you. Normal Ko’ragh.
IF KO’RAGH IS RUNNING ALL OVER THE ROOM to place the suppression field THEN YOU’RE NOT READY FOR HEROIC. He turns, takes a step at the most, places the suppression zone, and you move to the right. This boss has been a stopper at Normal and Heroic Difficulty … he doesn’t have to be.
And hey boss, I’m real excited about storming through 6/7 (n) … people got rid of blues and more importantly we learned.
Now the real question is, what’s his new mechanic at the mythic level? No clue. I have yet to personally see a Ko’ragh fight at the Heroic level … find me someone else with a better understanding of Ko’ragh’s mechanics … and I haven’t personally seen the fight. And it doesn’t matter … normal you can get away without the stack during Trample. No way at mythic.
And hey boss, we can down this boss at the Mythic Level ahead of the curve if we utilize all the resources the internet has to offer.
5 Things We Learned in Week 8

Week 8 of the 2014 NFL Season has passed. Season is about half over and now’s the time to take stock of what’s really going on this season.
1. The Chargers are pretenders.
In 10 days, San Diego went from toast of the town to pretenders. 2 division losses, one at home, in a span of 10 days has Vegas saying flip a coin in Week 9 on the road @ Miami. Week 13 @ Baltimore, Weeks 14 & 15 at home against New England and Denver with Week 16 on the road @ San Francisco may have the “resurgent” Phillip Rivers on the outside looking in come playoff time.
2. The Lions will be a force to reckon with come January.
They’re winning games they would normally lose. Another 1 point win this week in dramatic fashion, in London, without Calvin Johnson or Reggie Bush. This defense is legit. And Matthew Stafford is quietly making a case he’s the best QB taken #1 overall in the past 15 years. Detroit has their bye Week 9, the schedule doesn’t seem overly daunting, they own wins over Green Bay and Minnesota in the division, and a 1 game lead in the standings.
3. Tom Brady and New England are far from finished.
A 51 point explosion at home against Chicago. 149 yards and 3 TDs for Gronkowski who looks healtheir and healtheir this week. The losses on defense are catastrophic … again. You’re gonna have to beat New England for the fourth year in a row to represent the AFC in SuperBowl 49.
4. It’s Michael Vick time.
Vick saves the Jets season and Rex Ryan’s job. They win every game Vick starts and are alive for the playoffs Week 17.
5. It’s the same old Cowboys disguised by a healthy DeMarco Murray.
A terrible loss on Monday Night Football at home to division rival Washington with Colt McCoy making his first start in 2 season. And Romo re-injured his back. This week at home vs. 6-1 Arizona followed by a road visit to Jacksonville then the bye. Do we see the new and improved 8-2 Cowboys heading into Week 12s division showdown on Sunday night against the New York football Giants? 7-3? 6-4 is where its going to be if Brandon Weeden is starting these next 2 weeks.
20 Amazingly Leet NFL Predictions for 2014

Back by popular demand, here are my 20 Amazingly Leet Predictions for the 2014 NFL Season.
1. New England breaks Denver’s yardage record, Tom Brady challenges Manning’s 55 TDs, and New England wins Super Bowl 49.
Aaron Dobson, Kenbrell Thompkins, Julian Edelman, a hopefully healthy Danny Amendola, and they added Brandon LaFell. Five solid options at WR and this writer is banking on a healthy 16 games from TE Rob Grankowski. Stevan Ridley adds power to the running game and Shane Vereen could be all world in PPR fantasy leagues.
2. 5 QBs pass for 5,000 yards
Manning, Brady, Brees, Stafford, and Rodgers.
This is the New NFL.
In 2002, 4 QBs threw for 4,000 yards. In 2003, 2 QBs threw for 4,000 yards. In 2004, 5 QBs threw for 4,000 yards.
In 2013, 9 QBs threw for 4,000 yards and Dan Marino’s 1984 record 5,084 yards was surpassed by 2 QBs. In 2012, 11 QBs threw for 4,000 yards … the same total, 11, as the years 2002-2004. The NFL is a pass first league and the records will continue to fall in coming seasons. In 2011, 10 QBs threw for 4,000 yards with 3 QBs over 5,000 yards, including two surpassing Marino’s 5084 yards in 1984.
5,000 passing yards in a season has been accomplished 8 times by 5 players. Brees, Stafford, Brady, and Manning simply throw for 5,000 yards again in their careers, like Drew Brees has done 4 times in his career, and they are joined by 5k newcomer Aaron Rodgers making 5 NFL QBs with 5,000 yards.
3. Julio Jones breaks Calvin Johnson’s record for yardage in a season.
His athleticism, size, speed, hands, everything about him is All Pro. This writer is banking on a healthy 16 games from Jones who easily replaces the production of TE Tony Gonzalez.
4. It’s Tampa Bay in the playoff conversation Week 17, not Carolina
Lovie Smith has some talent on both sides of the ball in Tampa Bay. Josh McCown shows he can start in the NFL, Vincent Jackson has an All-Pro year, rookies Mike Evans and Austin-Seferian Jenkins (first round talent) develop on the faster end of the WR and TE scale, and Doug Martin leads the NFL in rushing, with 1477 yards.
5. Rob Gronkowski breaks Randy Moss’ record for receiving TDs in a season.
See #1. 24 TDs for Gronk in 2014.
6. Demaryius Thomas breaks Moss’ record as well.
No doubt the Denver offense will roll this year, just not to last year’s level. Now the clear #1 option in the passing game, his elite talent combined with the record assault on passing yardage and associated records has him hauling in a league leading 25 TDs.
7. Reggie Bush has 2,000 combined yards and double digit TDs.
Bush pounds out 1300 yards on the ground and another 700 through the air on 80 receptions. The other running backs on the Lions do not matter, it’s all about what Reggie Bush does on his 20 touches per game. This writer is banking on 15 carries a game plus 80 receptions … 320 touches, 16 games, 20 touches per game. It’s realistic.
Maybe since the season is just starting, one can be hopeful and say Reggie Bush has 346 touches in 2014, 21.625 touches per game. Bush averages 5.8 yards per touch over his 7 year NFL career. 346 * 5.8 = 2,029. It’s not THAT far fetched.
8. No RB rushes for more than 1500 yards.
In 2002, 4 RBs rushed for 1500 yards. In 2003, 6 RBs rushed for 1500 yards. In 2004, 5 RBs rushed for 1500 yards. In 2011, 1 RB rushed for 1500 yards. In 2012, 4 RBs rushed for 15oo yards. In 2013, 1 RB rushed for 1500 yards. The days of the 20 carries per game for a feature back are disappearing as the New NFL adopts a running back by committee approach. The 2014 NFL draft featured Bishop Sankey, RB, selected in the second round at Pick 54, the latest a RB has ever been taken in an NFL draft.
9. 2014 is Tony Romo’s last season in Dallas.
Jason Garrett too. The defense will be too lousy and Tony Romo will make key mistakes in key situations leaving Dallas on the outside looking in come Wild Card weekend in January 2015.
10. Victor Cruz reestablishes himself as the go to receiver in the NFC East.
Because its the New York Giants in playoff contention come Week 17, not Dallas.
11. The loss of Knowshon Moreno, Eric Decker, plus Wes Welker’s concussion issues, impact Denver more than Las Vegas odds currently indicate.
I wrote why Denver will not win Superbowl 49. Hey Mike, it’s a website. I can’t list everything on a single page, it’s why a website has multiple pages. You have to clink on the links to learn more. Manning and Denver will be every bit as explosive on offense in 2014 and their defense made improvements with the signing of Ware and Ward. There’s simply less options … creating the opportunity for Demaryius Thomas to showcase his elite talent.
12. Seattle plays on the road during the NFC playoffs as an 11 win team
The NFC West goes to San Francisco.
13. 10 wins misses the 2014 NFC Playoffs for the 3rd year in a row.
St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Tampa, Carolina, Dallas, New York Giants (do you really still doubt Eli Manning after 2007 & 2011?), Philadelphia, New Orleans, San Francisco, Atlanta, Seattle, Green Bay. 13 teams, I didn’t include Arizona, Washington, or Minnesota and all 3 of those teams are going to be better than conventional wisdom dictates, and there are 6 playoff spots.
14. 2014 NFC Division Winners – San Francisco, New Orleans, Green Bay, Philadelphia in order of seeding.
Do the New York Giants win the NFC East? How many wins does it take to win the NFC East? 8? 9? Does New Orleans win 14 games and come away with the #1 seed in the conference? Will Detroit and Chicago both contend in the NFC North? The NFL is so difficult to prognosticate.
15. 2014 AFC Division Winners – New England, Denver, Cincinnati, Indianapolis in order of seeding
Will 2013 Playoff teams Kansas City and San Diego challenge Denver for the AFC West title? Is Cincinnati really too talented to miss the playoffs entirely? How good will Houston be defensively this year? The intrigue is much lower in the AFC this season … Oakland, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Baltimore, Tennessee, Miami, and Buffalo are not in legitimate conversations when it comes to division winners.
16. 2014 NFC Wildcard Teams – Seattle, Tampa Bay
Anointing Seattle repeat champions in 2014 is ridiculous. Writing the Seahawks aren’t going to make the 2014 playoffs is ignorant. They’re too talented returning too many players on a significantly more dominant defense statistically than any other team to miss out on January playoff action. Tampa Bay is one of the surprise teams, 2013’s version of Kansas City/San Diego.
17. 2014 AFC Wild Card Teams – Pittsburgh, New York Jets
Roethlisberger reminds everyone he’s a franchise QB and somehow, some way, the New York Jets find a way to sneak in at #6 amidst a 5 way tie in the AFC at 9-7. You’ll need an abacus to figure out the tie breakers and Rex Ryan prevails. He might be the greatest coach in the history of the NFL.
18. 2014 NFC Final Four – San Francisco, Seattle, Green Bay, New Orleans
Seattle @ San Francisco in the 2014 NFC Division Round is just too epic. Already playing two games in the 2014 Regular season, swept by SF, giving the niners home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs … their third meeting of the season adds to their already epic lore as it may be the NFLs premiere rivalry.
19. 2014 AFC Final Four – New England, Denver, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis
Belichick continues to madden Ben Roethlisberger and New England escapes with a win against the one team nobody wanted to see in the playoffs. Denver handles Luck and Company despite Manning’s poor performance, setting up Manning v Brady, in New England, for the 2014 AFC Championship. The intrigue and drama.
20. SuperBowl 49 – New England v. San Francisco
Tom Brady and Bill Belichick play in a record 6th SuperBowl, bringing home the elusive fourth title. New England will be all in for the next three seasons with Tom Brady playing the quarterback position. A title in 2014, followed by a title in either 2015 (back to back) or 2016, would give Tom Brady 5 Superbowl rings. There would be no debate, Montana never won 5 Superbowls. In the mid 1980s, the Chicago Bears, Washington Redskins, and New York Giants prevented Montana from even playing in 5 Superbowls, and we’d be talking about Brady with 7 Superbowl appearances with 5 titles. In 2014, there was simply too much talent on the offensive side of the ball and the resurgent Patriot defense, led by a healthy Jarod Mayo, the reestablishment of Revis Island, coupled with the best line backing corps Belichick has guided since Harry Carson, Lawrence Taylor, Carl Banks, and Pepper Johnson all contributed to the Patriots magical 2014 season.
10 Players After Round 7 That Could Win You A Championship

Comments Off on 10 Players After Round 7 That Could Win You A Championship
It’s been a while since I’ve made a post on this website. I’m an avid fantasy footballer and here’s a list of 10 players who are going to be amazingly leet in fantasy football in 2014. It’s easy to say Aaron Rodgers and Peyton Manning are going to be leet from a fantasy football standpoint … this list is about players with an ADP past 70 in a 1o team ppr league.
Why 70? At this point in the fantasy draft, teams are selecting backups because the first 7 picks should be prioritized based on fielding a starting roster, 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE).
Here’s the list, not in any particular order
1. Kenny Britt, WR, St. Louis Rams – ADP 139
Someone has to be the #1 in St. Louis, it’s simply a requirement for fielding an 11 man offensive team in the NFL. Standing 6’3″, Britt has the athleticism and experience with head coach Jeff Fisher. He emerges the #1 choice for Sam Bradford who the Rams are hoping for a healthy 16 games. Shaun Hill is one of the most capable backups in the league and this offense is going to have plenty of options. 08/26/2014 Update: Bradford tore his ACL and Britt was hurt in the game against Cleveland. I still think Britt will be the #1 this season and Shaun Hill is more than capable.
2. Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee – ADP 107
Same philosophy as St. Louis, someone has to emerge as the #1 WR, and my money is on second year man Justin Hunter, standing 6’4″. The stability and experience of Nate Washington, a clear #2 in the NFL, combined with the emergence of slot receiver Kendall Wright, have Hunter emerging in his second year as the clear #1 option for a team with intriguing options on offense. This is all about the health of Jake Locker who needs to prove he’s the guy in Tennesee.
3. Marques Colston, WR, New Orleans, ADP 77
He’s healthy, supposedly, and at 31, there may be age concerns … Drew Brees and this offense is going to score a lot of points and produce a lot of yards … it’s been going on in Louisiana for years. Problem has always been too many options for Brees with Jimmy Graham, Robert Meachem, Darren Sproles, and Lance Moore. In 2014, there’s no Darren Sproles or Lance Moore who accounted for 87 receptions. 2014 first round pick Brandin Cooks (who looks special in the 2014 preseason) and the emergence of Kenny Stills … with the dominance of Jimmy Graham, a healthy Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas, there is no shortage of options … At 6’4″, the experience combined with single coverage, an additional 90 or so receptions up for grabs, Colston again reaches that threshold of a #1 WR. He’ll frustrate you, but there are going to be some big games for the New Orleans offense and Colston is going to have numbers … you just gotta know when to start him.
Maurice Jones-Drew, RB, Oakland, ADP 82
Like Colston, MJD is supposedly healthy and the only reason you’re getting him in the 9th round is because Darren McFadden is there and the Oakland Raiders are going to be terrible in 2014. I’m gambling on Run DMC, as McFadden is known in the fantasy world, being hurt and MJD being the every down back for a terrible team where someone has to play the position of RB for 20-25 touches per game … That’s value in the 9th round.
4. DeAngelo Williams, RB, Carolina, ADP 125
Jonathan Stewart, and his immense talent, coupled with Cam Newton vulturing rushing yards and touchdowns, and Mike Tolbert vulturing even more touchdowns, have owners staying away from Williams who wasn’t even drafted in one of the 10 team fantasy football leagues. Injuries have limited Stewart to a combined 141 carries in a total of 15 games played the past 2 seasons. Tolbert and Newton will still vulture TDs but there could be a 1000 yard rushing season combined with a bump in receptions when it’s all said and done based on Stewart’s injury history.
5. Speaking of Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina, ADP 151
The offense is electric with him in the backfield. Can he just stay healthy? If so, there’s a 1500 total yard season and double digit TDs. I’ll let you take the risk of a roster slot with him.
6. Carlos Hyde, RB, San Francisco, ADP 100
Perhaps 2014 is where the torch is passed in San Francisco, Frank Gore is on the wrong side of 30 with almost 2,200 carries (second among active RBs) and 10,000 yards on those tires.
7. Ladarius Green, TE, San Diego, ADP 133
Similar to San Francisco, the torch could be passed from an aging Antonio Gates to the younger and extremely athletic Green.
8. Davonta Freeman, RB, Atlanta, ADP 106
Steven Jackson, the active leader in career carries with over 2,500 hasn’t played a snap in the preseason. Jacquizz Rodgers has always been there so he’s not much of a threat to Jackson or Freeman, whoever is healthy.
9. Dwayne Bowe, WR, Kansas City, ADP 114
He’s the #1 in Kansas City and maybe, just maybe Alex Smith is the guy for Kansas City. Bowe finds a way to get into the end zone 10+ times and ends up with around 1200 yards receiving.
10. Houston Defense / Special Teams
Jadaveon Clowney and J.J. Watt are going to terrorize QBs during the 2014 NFL season. Lots of sacks, lots of turnovers, and with an ADP of 167, they can be yours with the last pick in your draft. 2 games against Jacksonville plus an opening game against Oakland isn’t going to have them on your league’s waiver wire for very long.
