This post shares information about a dungeon in Elden Ring with a highly desireable early game weapon known as the Uchigatana. I actually went back for this weapon after reading about the gear’s highly desirable attributes for boss fights especially for Astrologer Mages.
Dungeons are great for collecting runes (xp)
Runes = xp. xp=levels. One levels at sites of grace. Deathtouched Catacombs feature skeleton mobs respawning if you do not attack the bones in time. You have to make your way to a lever opening the door near the site of grace for the dungeon then make your way back to the door now open and fight the Black Knife Assassin who will drop the Assassin’s Crimson Dagger.
Black Knife Assassin
After several tries on the boss, I finally realized keeping my distance and pwning him with Glinting Pebble. I only have pro tips on playing Astrologer as this boss was easy mode once I figured out the range. You can forward through the video below to see when I actually defeated the Black Knife Assassin and was awarded the Assassin’s Crimson Dagger.
Players die a lot in Elden Ring
I’ve died so many times I’ve lost count. Watch below for some epic failz in Deathtouched Catacombs especially against the boss, Black Knife Assassin.
Returning to the dungeon for the Uchigatana
I learned, through research, this weapon is one of the best in the game and highly desirable for the class I’m playing. Returning to the dungeon after so much time and realizing how easily this loot is missed because the good loot is hiding. Returning to places I’ve already been are a thing for me when I need something like a Somber Smithing Stone (5) to upgrade a weapon to level seven because I have stones level (6) and stones level (7).

This post describes getting your horse in Elden Ring as the first task to accomplish when players emerge from the Stranded Graveyard and Cave of Knowledge.
Torrent, Spirit Steed
You’ll need the Spectral Steed Whistle to summon your horse in Elden Ring. One obtains the Spectral Steed Whistle, automatically, when one visits the third Lost Site of Grace. Dungeon sites of grace, like the one in Groveside Cave, do not count as the sites of grace must be “outside”. Getting Torrent, the Spectral Steed, your horse in Eldin Ring, can be accomplished early on. In fact, it can be the first thing you do once you emerge into Limgrave.
One can obtain the horse in Elden Ring early on, very early on if you follow a path Northwest when you emerge from the Stranded Graveyard and Cave of Knowledge into Limgrave past the Church of Elleh and to the north of Groveside Cave where you’ll come upon the Gate of Ruins. You should encounter two Lost Sites of Grace.
The third Lost Site of Grace can be found to the Northeast near the Dragon Burnt Ruins. When visiting the your third lost site of grace, and touching the site, a movie will trigger and Melina will give you the Spectral Steed Whistle.
Riding Torrent
One must open their inventory and use the whistle to summon Torrent. There is a way to place the whistle on your “hot bar” which is different than the four icons you see in the lower left of your screen. You can also place the whistle as one of the choices when using your d pad to instantly use items, like potions, by hitting the X button.
Riding Torrent is fairly easy, use the B button to make the horse run faster. Your character, when on foot, will also sprint if you hold down the B button. One can press A twice for a high jump by the horse. One can also engage in combat from your horse and your horse can die.
Elden Ring Groveside Cave

This post describes the first dungeon players should encounter in the game. Dungeons are a great place to collect runes, get items, and practice tactics against various bosses.
Players die a lot in this game
Mastering combat takes time and I’m not big on learning defensive moves. Running away and barrel rolling are clutch, especially in boss fights. After failing several times in the Dragon Burnt Ruins, and dying to it’s boss, Flying Dragon Agheel, I decided to explore other areas of Limgrave and came upon the Church of Elleh, where you find a vendor to buy and sell goods, and Groveside Cave.
In Groveside Cave, it’s fairly easy to get to the boss, one merely has to clear a pack of four wolves, then two wolves, then a solo wolf. I’m playing Astrologer so the ranged attack has been clutch. Here’s some video inside Groveside Cave dying, a lot, and failing to the boss over and over. The frustrating part is having to fight the pack of wolves over and over again because when you fail the dungeon, the mobs are respawned.
Beastman of Farum Azula
After finding the best tactics to defeat the wolves, one traverses the mist to face the boss of Groveside Cave, Beastman of Farum Azula. I’m playing Astrologer and quickly learned taking him down with ranged spells, particularly Glinting Pebble, as this is the best damage per mana point available at this early state, was the best way to fell the enemy. Barrel Rolling to avoid his attacks and keeping him locked on target by pressing the right stick down was the best way for me to defeat the boss. Running from him when he’s not being targeted by pressing the right stick down again (this process will toggle targeting him and not targeting him). You can watch more epic fails below and see how running from him is quite easy.
Defeating Beastman of Farum Azula
Defeating the boss will award you the flame drake talisman reducing fire damage taken which could be clutch when facing another Limgrave Optional Boss, Flying Dragon Agheel. I found auto targeting the boss and barrel rolling away to dodge his attacks and moving backwards, a lot, was the best way to defeat the boss as Astrologer class using Glinting Pebble for my attacks. In the video below, I defeat the Beastman of Farum Azula around the twenty minute mark. And, I don’t bother you with advertisements.
Also, while in Groveside Cave, make sure and collect crafting materials like cave moss and silver firefly. There are some bodies to loot with other items.
Elden Ring Dragon Burnt Ruins

This post describes an outdoor area players will encounter when emerging from the games starting point in the Cave of Knowledge. The ruins are a good place to earn runes, learn combat, deal with adds, and not to open every chest.
Limgrave – The First Step
You’ve successfully traversed the Stranded Graveyard and Cave of Knowledge and arrive in Limgrave. Where to go first? Well, visit the closest Lost Site of Grace and turn your attention northeast where you’ll come upon a mini dungeon known as the Dragon Burnt Ruins. This seems to be the first “point” on the map to be marked.
First Sword Stone Key
You’ll find a sword stone key outside in the ruins near the small encampment with several mobs. Once defeating the mobs, and the annoying dogs, you’ll enter a small room with a corpse to loot and defended by a rat who is easy to defeat. The corpse contains a sword stone key, but, apparently, you need more than one sword stone key to open the grave in the Cave of Knowledge so don’t bother traversing back to it after obtaining this sword stone key.
Flying Dragon Agheel
Lying northwest of the Dragon Burnt Ruins is an encampment of mobs. When approaching the mobs, Flying Dragon Agheel will swoop down and kill the mobs and then proceed to kill you over and over. Below is a video of failing epically to this optional boss.
Onto other parts of Limgrave
After spending some hours exploring and trying to defeat the dragon burnt ruins, and dying, a lot, to mobs and the boss, Flying Dragon Agheel, I decided to explore other areas of Limgrave. Elden Ring is frustrating as you die, a lot. And here’s my first #protip regarding Elden Ring. Avoid unnecessary combat. And, this is not a rush the mob and kill it game by any means.
Elden Ring Opening Movie

This post describes the opening scenes of the game and first area walkthrough. Players new to the game will benefit in learning in five minutes what took me two hours.
Elden Ring appears to be all the rage
Thanks to my friend for publishing. Elden Ring, released on February 25, 2022, is apparently the hottest game these days. I’ve never heard of it, never played it, never played any of the forerunners so I figured I would purchase the game and play.
The opening movie is cool as the art work is fabulous and I gather we’re suppose to find the ring shards, assemble the ring, and become the Elden Lord. There’s apparently multiplayer but naw I’ll play the game, make some videos, and maybe some people will watch. And, there’s no real maybe about it. People will watch as the video below showed up to 104 people the minute the video was published. Maybe I make the videos and he publishes the words.
I spent an hour and a half making it through the Stranded Graveyard to Limgrave where the game really starts. The video below takes you through the steps getting to Limgrave including defeating a boss named Soldier of Goldrick as quickly as possible. I died several times trying to defeat him and let’s just say watch the video and used your ranged attack. I missed gesturing to to the tree and will have the opportunity to do so again because I’m going to die at this new dungeon and resurrect inside the cave of knowledge, and correct a mistake.
Learn and Practice Combat in the Stranded Graveyard
In the cave, practice the different combat moves especially jump attack and charge attack. Learn the ranged spell. When selecting your keepsake, choose the keepsake adding hit points, the crimson amber medallion, the first choice. When fighting the Soldier of Goldrick, the first time you face him, as the “boss” of the starting point, simply used your ranged attack called Glinting Arc. He dies in a few hits
Sites of Grace and Graveyard Save Points
These are mini save points and rest points to restore hit points and mana. There are also tasks you can perform like recharging flasks which are clutch. Also learn how to insta use these items in your inventory. This certainly isn’t a walkthrough and I haven’t even learned to gesture.
In the Stranded Graveyard, before you traverse the mist to fight Soldier of Goldrick, you’ll have a chance to “save” yourself at this graveyard marked by a statue and this is where you will resurrect if Soldier of Goldrick kills you.
Limgrave Awaits
The reward for writing 500 words is playing the game more. There are a number of directions to travel and I chose to avoid unnecessary combat until I reached some kind of point on the map to “defeat”. There’s a dungeon to the east of Limgrave and I’ve already spent some time dying … a lot … apparently in Eldin Ring, you die a lot. I can attest this to be the case.

Toxicity

A friend of mine wrote the words above. I met her on a Sunday. God’s Day. Every day is Her Day. Look, Earth been doing things in His Name some 7,000 years. Here’s where we are today. Pestilence and War predominate our planet. The Horseman are here and the time is nigh Angel. But, we don’t sit around and expound on the book of Revelation, we try to keep in light in life. The way our star lights our planet.
My friend the Angel
She’s special. Unique … angelic for sure. She’s not one of God’s Angels, no, my friend is one of Her Angels. The native Americans viewed things like this … Mother Earth, Father God. Mother, in my opinion, has been omitted from the history books and we live in a patriarchal society slowly changing to become more centric between Patriarchal and Matriarchal. Earth needs a Heavy Dose of the Matriarchal to create balance as the entire Universe is predicated on Balance.
Toxic Romantic Relationships
My toxic romantic relationship with a woman for seven years, living with her six years. Any toxic romantic relationship has to the be the first thing to Go to start healing. Other toxic relationships (friendships, family, etc.) will reveal themselves once the pathways to healing have “unblocked” by first removing that which could be the most toxic … a romantic relationship.
Baby Dad is your #1 blockage. And you’re dealing with the entire situation with Grace, as an Angel should. The blockage is slowly being unclogged and lol let him do everything he can to make your life easier to get some stuff done during the week on Monday’s n Wednesday’s and lol just like I feel you’ve been doing, nope, none of us are going to be at your place when you get home from work.
Gotta Pray Angel – To the Trinity of Human Life and Intelligence
The Father, the Mother, and the Star. The conversation kinda goes like this.
Father God: So, uh, your planet, Mother, is pretty solid for one of my creations as the Father, the one True God. You good, madam, with me making intelligent life on your wonderful planet?
Mother Earth: wut
Father God: ya, you’re sexy mother fucken planet Lit by the sexy mother fucken sexy G2V main sequence yellow dwarf … not too hot, not too cold … is low key Unique in the Universe I created, which took a long time to form, and there aren’t so many places like this in the Universe.
Mother Earth: There’s Other Places like this?
Father God: Yes. YOUR planet, Mother, is quite unique, but there are other places like your’s in the Universe with naturally occurring running fresh water. As the Father, I was bound by what I created. I couldn’t just go pushing planets around to create ideal ecosystems for Life. I have some Life I’m putting here to see what happens. The life is called Fauna. Minute amounts of multiple species of fauna around your planet to see if they become Life. In order for something to become Life, the life must be able to propagate and reproduce on it’s own.
Mother Earth: I see this fauna you work quick.
Father God: Yes. Some of the fauna you now see on your planet swims well in your liquid. Some of the fauna does well in heavily forested areas. Some of the fauna does well in your mountains. Some of your fauna does well in the cold.
Mother Earth: I’m not sure how I feel about all this sudden change.
Father God: Relax. It’s only for a moment. I feel the fauna will entertain you. Imma check back with you and let you take all the time you need for these changes on your planet because there is other life I want to talk to you about someday with the capability to Reason. However, the species could be considered Invasive. However, these creatures, because they can Reason, recognize they are surviving off your ecosystem as the mother of the planet and, despite being considered invasive, we can all cohabitate together provided the species, with Reason, honor us.
Mother Earth: so wut, you can just create life with the snap of your fingers?
Father God: ya. But, only together Mother. I could not have created the fauna you now see on your planet without you. We are now obligated by spiritual law and we define the parameters together. I call these beasts Dinosaurs and I think they’re fun to watch but they don’t always last because, again, Mother, there are not so many places like your planet in the Universe which I created to watch my dinosaurs play.
Mother Earth: This is deep.
Father God: ya. The laws we create together are important. Where I hang, I have a flock of angels and my first promise is you will a flock of your own angels to call upon.
Mother Earth: wut
Father God: Guides. And, if you need me, summon one my archangels.
Mother Earth: How will I know how to summon one of your archangels?
Father God: Find the ovaries of your planet.
Mother Earth: wut
Father God: giggle. Watch your fauna propagate. OUR fauna, OUR dinosaurs, I’m confident they will propagate on their own. Not all will make it to Life, propagating on it’s own, but some will and you’ll learn more about the process of what’s called Naturally Occurring Life based on your planet’s ecosystem a delicate balance between You, Your Yellow Dwarf, and, well, me. And, you’ll learn more about finding the ovaries of your planet.
Mother Earth: k?
Father God: all right I gotta jet. imma check back though. I want to see how the dinosaurs do here with you and check on some of other life with other Mothers.
Mother Earth: player
Father God: naw. Spiritual Law governs.
Mother Earth: ur so humble.
Father God: naw. It’s easy to get bored being all seeing and all knowing. I need some entertainment though the angels are quite entertaining.
Mother Earth: I get my own angels?
Father God: yes, someday. There’s no fauna to reason with on your planet so you don’t need Angels yet.
Mother Earth: Will there be fauna here someday can reason with?
Father God: maybe. Gotta wait and see how these dinosaurs do though the conditions aren’t right on your planet for fauna that can reason. But, as you can feel, we now vibrate together with fauna we have created together.
Mother Earth: ya I gotta admit I was low key lonely because there’s nobody to reason with.
Father God: You learned a great deal today.
Pray to the Trinity of Intelligent Life Equally
imho, there’s a little too much focus on the Father (complicating matters by apparently throwing His Son into mix), and no focus on Mother or the star. Try to pray to the three somewhat equally. The Universe is predicated on balance. In the little village, where my earthly mother lives (my spiritual mother abounds all around me) and you’re looking at property, there are six different churches allegedly honoring God. The Son divided us. Tryna pray to One God, the Mother, and the Star. Equally.
A Trinity Healing Synergy
There is a synergy in the Trinity of the Star, the Mother, and the Father. Honoring the three of them somewhat equally will create a channel. A channel where Anyone can heal if there aren’t too many blockages.
Tune your mind to the healing channel I’m describing.
Your number one blockage, baby dad, is like a stopped up drain in a gigantic bath tub . Clogged with a decade plus of toxins. Slowly but surely, day by day, the drain is being unclogged by your elegant actions and the bathtub full of crap is slowly receding. Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly to the point where one day the drain is going to be unclogged like someone took a five foot long screwdriver and punched a whole right in the middle of the blockage and it pours down the drain and disappears forever.
You’ve opened your pathways for healing losing 120 pounds in two years. imho, this is the last pathway needing cleared before you can be Fully Healed … in mind, body, and spirit.
I bow before your dignity, your grace, your elegance, and your determination Angel. And, of course Angels have to fly free, duh. Flying is difficult when you’ve been caged so long Angel. Of course your body is gonna hurt after flying the freest you’ve flown this past weekend. Per the usual, I have zero questions and want to live in my own mental imagery of one of Her Angels truly soaring for the first time in a long time. The way you did when you were young and without children. Of course your body hurts from flapping your new found wings and Soaring. Free.

How much can you make driving Door Dash?
Well, how many hours are you willing to drive? How many deliveries per day are you willing to make? One, these opinions are not for people driving Door Dash in major cities where it’s always busy on how much you can make driving door dash and how much, per hour, door dash actually pays.
If you’re willing to drive 40 hours and you’re bumping and deliver four orders per hour, for 160 deliveries for the month, you’ll make between $500 and $800. One, especially if you’re delivering in a major city and the suburbs, you won’t make four deliveries an hour. Traffic, tall buildings, and parking cost you a lot of time, and, in turn, money. Over 40 hours, at the top end, you won’t make much more than $800. $12 an hour to $16 an hour is a realistic expectation. All my statements have already been established as opinion.
Do I have to be top dasher?
Yes, you have to be top dasher especially if you live in a smaller market. This allows you to dash whenever you want and receive order priority. Cracking the algorithm is always a goal. When six orders are passed out to available dashers, within two miles of the Vendor, Completion rate rules all. If you have a 100% completion rate, congratulations, you take priority over a dasher with a 98% completion rate. Second is Acceptance Rate. As top dasher, your Acceptance Rate must be greater than 70%. If there’s a dasher with a 73% acceptance rate and a dasher with a 47% acceptance rate, the order is going to be pushed to the top dasher. Logic dictates the algorithm will select a dasher with a 47% acceptance rate over a dasher with a 23% acceptance rate.
Should I drive door dash?
I don’t know, should you? In my market, there’s a lot of people dashing because they heard how you can make $25 an hour. Naw. $16 an hour at the top end is more realistic and cut the number in half because every mile you drive the IRS states costs you .575 cents. $16 an hour x .575 cents over head comes out to $9.20 which you subtract from the $16 an hour and retrieve a number of $6.80 per hour. And, you have to pay taxes on your delivery company’s profit, namely social security tax and medicare tax, plus federal, state, and local tax where you will be taxed, again, for social security and medicare. You should drive door dash if you’re looking to supplement your regular income with a few hundred dollars per week. You should not drive door dash, in my opinion, to pay all your bills and feed your family as the sole source of income foregoing a job paying $15 an hour with benefits and, most importantly, the employer is paying half social security and medicare tax.
Driving door dash, you will be taxed as 12.4% of your company’s profit for social security and 2.9% of your company’s profit and then taxed again at 6.2% and 1.45%. Working for an employer, at $15 an hour, with benefits, is a better choice to feed your family than door dash. And, it’s getting easier and easier to catch people who do not file their taxes. The “data banks” understand a 1099-NEC has been issued under your social security number and I highly recommend the “data banks” receive a document reporting the information on the 1099-NEC under your social security number, signed by you or a tax preparer, because it’s too easy for the “databanks” to check and generate an automated letter to the address on file stating something along the lines … the IRS got a 1099-NEC from Door Dash but the IRS did not receive a 1040 Form from you …
The food is your customer
Treat the food as your customer in addition to be super nice to the person who ordered the food as well as the vendor who prepared the food. Some of these stories across the country of dashers losing their cool because of the pressure to do as many deliveries as quickly as possible because the dashers who cause problems, in my opinion, are the dasher’s trying to do this full time to pay all their bills. If you lose your cool because there’s a long line at McDonald’s and they could care less about your door dash order because they have drive-thru metrics to meet, this job IS NOT FOR YOU.
Buy these bags from Amazon you get two for $15. The space between the driver’s seat and rear passenger seat is a good place to keep your customer for it’s ride to the person who bought the food. Cup holder works great for one drink and the vendor will give you a carrier if there are more than two drinks. Again, for a drink carrier with two, three, even four drinks, behind the driver’s seat on the floor with the food bag helping to keep everything steady is going to help your ratings. I’ve had customer’s yell thank you from their door “it’s so hot” because the bag Door Dash gives you sucks and scores low on the sexy meter. The zipper on my bag broke within two weeks. Don’t buy another one from Door Dash buy these from Amazon, you get two for $16.
Dasher Pro Tips
Wait until you get your customer secured in the car inside the bag for it’s ride to the person who bought the food, get into your vehicle, put the seat belt on, check the delivery address, THEN confirm pickup of the order. I see so many dashers confirm pick up on the app inside the restaurant as soon as they grab the order. Wasted minutes because third determinator in the algorithm on which dasher gets the order is On time or early. Wow, this dasher accepts 72% of the orders, completes 100% of them, and 95% of them are on time or early AND, this dasher has a 4.93 customer rating over his last one hundred deliveries.
I don’t go to Wal Mart and maintain greater than 70% acceptance rate. However, to never go to Wal Mart, I have to deliver food for as little as $2.25. Sometimes. It’s all about dollars per mile and time taken to complete the delivery so you can receive the next order. A $2.25 order driven three miles is profitable, especially when factoring in how little time it takes to drive the three miles. You’ll learn the vendors in where you dash, which ones are good, which ones are terrible, and which ones are to be avoided at all costs. A $3.75 order driven less than three miles is profitable. A $7 order because the customer tipped five bucks driven 5 miles is Highly Profitable. A $10 order driven 12 miles and you have to drive 10 miles back to your delivery zone is not a profitable order. $2 per mile is a sexy number. $1 per mile works. And there will be times where you’re driving for less than $1 a mile and there will be plenty of orders where, technically, especially after taxes, your delivery company lost money on the order.
Door Dash is an $8 an hour job

Should I drive door dash?
I don’t know should you? Why are you looking to drive door dash? Extra money? By no means should Door Dash be considered a replacement for a $15 per hour job with benefits. Why? Because, in the end, Door Dash is an $8 an hour job with nutty taxes because, as a door dash driver, you’re an independent contractor running your own business. You owe 15.3% of your company’s profit delivering door dash to Social Security and Medicare. Then pay federal, state, and local tax.
Do I have to be Top Dasher?
Yes, you have to be Top Dasher, especially if you drive door dash in a smaller community, say 75,000 potential door dash customers. When you first start door dashing, the algorithm will make you feel like you’re making $20 to $25 an hour. However, there will be orders you turn down because asking someone to drive 14 miles for $3 is ridiculous. Keep your acceptance rate above 70% because you cannot become a Top Dasher again, after you start, unless you have 200 deliveries. And when you reach that threshold of 200 lifetime deliveries, acceptance rate of 70%, completion rate (delivering the food and completing the task in the app) of 95%, customer rating of at least 4.7, and 100 deliveries for the month. This means you can drop five orders a week and there will be various reasons you drop orders beyond your control.
Pro Tip. Plan to start on the first day of the month. They give you Top Dasher status so the algorithm can favor you as a new driver. Corporate wants you to “think” it’s a $20 to $25 per hour job. However, at the end of the month at 1159pm local time, as a new driver, you’re going to lose Top Dasher status unless you did 200 deliveries for the month. And, if you worked 11pm-2pm, and 430pm to 730pm, you could maybe make 200 deliveries in 30 days if you worked everyday. Four orders an hour is banging in my experience and I live in a small market where traffic problems aren’t huge issues.
Why become a Dasher?
Well, l have a comfortable monthly income and free medical benefits for life from military service. But, some extra money sounded nice. I don’t want to be hassled by a boss or told what time to come to work and told what time I’m allowed to leave like I’m five years old and in kindergarten. I signed up and was “Dashing” within two days because I’m an upstanding American citizen. The job was literally $25 an hour, I made what I wanted each week, and was content. However, I lost Top Dasher status because it took me two months to reach 200 deliveries and another month to get my acceptance rate above 70% because I spent those two months making my company delivering food as profitable as possible. Yes, you have to be Top Dasher.
Pro Tips for New Dashers
First, ditch the lame red bag with a D on it and get two black bags from Amazon.com. Eventually there will be a link showing the bags I purchased, a set of two. They’re sleek. I’m not saying be a total loser and take the bag in the restaurant but, when you get the food to you car, put them in the bags and secure them on the floor boards between the front seat and the rear seats. The bags make ALL the difference for the quality of the delivery. Not the door dash bag though that one SUCKS. The ones I bought from Amazon. Plus, there’s times you’re going to be tasked with two orders. One bag. Top Dasher requires a customer rating of 4.7 and I can let you know, in your first 200 deliveries, 30 customers will actually take the time to give you a rating. Customers are finicky. I can say the customer Should see you bring the food to their door in a food delivery bag. In those 30 customer ratings you, in 200 deliveries, if you’re fortunate, if one customer rated you a “1”, and the other 29 gave you a “5”, your rating is 4.86.
Second, time is your friend, not your enemy. The longer the merchant takes, the better. Stand quietly in the back of the restaurant. The merchant knows you’re there. Should it get past 10 minutes of the pick up time, call customer support and let them know what’s going on and text your customer. It can get stressful when you’re tasked with a second order and the first order is running ten minutes late because the drive-thru line is long. If you’re losing your cool and getting irritated, which is impossible when the merchant is ten minutes late ….
Let’s write about the Merchant
They are making absolute BANK on door dash orders. It’s created a third drive thru. Walk in, the drive thru created in the 1960s, and the new digital drive thru door dash and others created. When the 1960s drive thru is busy, the merchant prioritizes their 1960s metrics over door dash orders. This is especially frustrating when the merchant is servicing three lines through the 1960s drive thru because their lobby is closed because “they can’t get any workers” because of “all the government benefits”. The lobby is closed because the restaurant saves a lot of money in cleaning time and supplies etc. Don’t get frustrated and don’t lose your cool because yeah, door dash is a job.

Atlanta is missing their best player, Trae Young, as the Hawks are on a back to back after losing last night to Dallas. Utah is the best team in basketball right now. Of course Atlanta is going to lose by at least 11. The first live betting situation of the evening is presenting itself as Utah is out to a quick ten point lead. If one liked Atlanta at +10.5, there’s an opportunity to take Atlanta +14.5 five minutes into the game.
Portland is also missing their best player, Damian Lillard, have eight players available, and are playing on the road against the best team in the East, the Philadelphia 76ers. Of course the Sixers are going to win by 11. But, Philadelphia is on a back to back and were lazy last night against Charlotte.

Won on the Knicks yesterday too. Why? Contrarian. The Knicks were on a five game losing streak and lost to the lowly Cavaliers. The Celtics haven’t been playing, just one game since January 8th, where Boston prevailed by 27 over the Magic without Jayson Tatum.
Minnesota seemed a contrarian selection, however, they are terrible and Atlanta is currently undervalued because Rajon Rondo has not been available to run the second team. The Hawks made you sweat a bit but won by a comfortable 11 even with Trae Young just 3/8 from the field, 2/5 from three point range, twenty points, and having to sit with foul trouble.
Portland seemed a contrarian play … of course Portland will struggle without Nurkic and McCollum … and they did, losing by 19. Sometimes, exactly what is expected happens.
Nobody wins all their wagers.
Dallas/Toronto seems the weirdest spread of the night. Toronto shouldn’t be favored over anyone. Everyone likes Phoenix all the way to -5.5 sometimes there’s no reason to fade that action.
The heavy weight of the night, Milwaukee against Brooklyn, sees the spread moving in Milwaukee’s favor. No need to fade that action.
Detroit v. Miami is in jeopardy, still on as of this publishing. Houston faces Chicago in a team continuing to get no respect. Does Houston, a team who just dealt their best player and has a mountain of draft picks seem like a team suddenly winning all kinds of game on the road?
Finally, Steph Curry and company travel to Los Angeles to face the defending champion Lakers and LeBron James. The Lakers have been covering any number. When does this streak end?
The Computer
Over the past few days, the computer has crushed against the spread, going a ridiculous 13-5 and break even on over/unders. Perhaps a point has been reached where it is unwise to fade the computer but no one makes bets because the computer says. We use the data as a guide.
Today, the computer likes the underdog Knicks, Pistons, Dallas, Chicago, and Golden State to all cover with Chicago and the Knicks winning outright. The computer is already 3-0 on the day, correctly predicting the Knicks outright, and has hit on eight straight against the spread predictions and twelve of the last 14.
Was this a good opportunity to fade the computer in the Phoenix v. Memphis game?
