The Iraqi Dinar Scam and 5 Things to Know

July 8, 2014 | Posted in Publishing | By

You might as well be holding monopoly money because these notes are worthless anywhere except Iraq.

You might as well be holding monopoly money because these notes are worthless anywhere except Iraq and they aren’t worth very much there.

I recently learned some of my extended family and their friends invested tens of thousands of dollars buying Iraqi Dinar (IRQ) in the hopes the currency will appreciate in value or will be “revalued” leading to a ridiculous return on investment, for example, one million Iraqi Dinar purchased for around $1,000 US Dollars could hypothetically lead to $3,000,000 if the Iraqi Dinar returned to its 1990 value of around $3 US per dinar.  I’m very sorry if you personally gave your hard earned money in exchange for Iraqi Dinar, you have indeed been scammed and are in possession of worthless paper that CANNOT be turned into USD at ANY bank in the United States of America.  You can’t bring a single one of your IQD notes to any bank and leave with USD.  Even if the currency is magically revalued, the dreams and hopes of the infinitely unwise, you still will not be able to turn them into USD at any bank in the United States of America.  Valuation of a countries currency is complicated to say the least and there is certainly an opportunity to profit from the trading of currencies, just not the Iraqi Dinar, because as far as the global market is concerned, it isn’t real money.  You would be better off with the notes from a game of Monopoly, at least people around the world will recognize the game money and it is equally as valuable in the United States of America as the Iraqi Dinar.

Here are 5 things you should know about Iraqi Dinar:

1.  You can’t buy or sell them to a bank in the United States.

The Iraqi Dinar is not a currency listed on the Foreign Exchange Market, or Forex, for short.  Don’t believe me?  Take a single note from your Iraqi Dinar stash to your bank or any bank in the United States and try to walk out with US Dollars.  Most people are in possession of the 25,000 denomination note which, according to current exchange rates, available on google, should be about $20.  I dare you, take your 25,000 dinar note and try to get $20, you might be surprised, confused, and feel a bit foolish because this exchange rate is set by the Central Bank of Iraq and not recognized by any financial institution outside of Iraq.

2.  Are you in possession of the actual dinar bank notes or do you have some type of “statement” saying you own X amount of Iraqi Dinar?

You didn’t get scammed as hard if you’re in possession of physical Iraqi Dinar bank notes.  If you have a statement, try to get your hands on the actual dinar.  What’s the process?  When your ship comes in, and the currency is revalued, and suddenly your statement is worth $3M dollars, aren’t you going to want to get the actual dinar in your hands so you can take it to the bank and deposit it into your checking account?  There’s dumb and there is infinitely dumb.

3.  The Iraqi Dinar is suddenly revalued at a 1 for 1 exchange rate, meaning 1 IRQ = 1 USD.

Your ship has come in!!!!!  Suddenly, your 25,000 Iraqi Dinar note is worth $25,000 USD right?

Wrong.  Your 25,000 Iraqi Dinar note, that you hopefully have in hand or you’re the real sucker born every minute, is now considered “Old Dinar” and “New Dinar” at the new exchange rate is going to be a new note issued by the Central Bank of Iraq.  What does this mean?  I understand you’re a bit slow, after all, you invested thousands of dollars in this scheme, so I will try to explain it as simple as possible.

There be an exchange period for “old” dinar to “new” dinar meaning when you walk into a bank in Baghdad with your 25,000 “old” note, it will be honored at the “old” price, roughly $20, meaning you would walk out of the Iraqi Bank with 20 IRQ in the new notes. You walked into the bank with $20 USD in old dinar and you’ll walk out with $20 USD in new dinar.

In the entire history of traded currency, there has NEVER been a revaluation of a country’s currency in a manner that would allow people who purchased Iraqi Dinar to profit instantly.

4.  Iraq is an emerging economy with the massive oil reserves, surely there is a chance for it to increase in value, maybe even to 1990 levels of $3.71 for 1 Iraqi Dinar.

Iraq is a country not a company.  And, oil is purchased in US Dollars globally, meaning if you want to buy a barrel of oil, you need roughly $100 USD.  You must convert your currency into USD at the going rate then purchase your oil.  There is no correlation between quantity of natural resources and currency valuation, it’s currency, countries and governments, NOT a company with stock.  In addition, Saddam Hussein is the one who set this price and it certainly was not a price honored on the open market.

5. Currency has value because the countries central bank says so and the market agrees.

The Central Bank of Iraq sets the currency exchange rate for the Iraqi Dinar.  I haven’t read the news today, I’m not sure who currently controls the Central Bank of Iraq, The Sunni or Shiite?  Iraq is engulfed in Civil War less than 3 years after the last American troops departed the country.  Does this really sound like a situation where some currency magic is going to happen and suddenly you have $3M dollars sitting in an envelope in your closet?

There’s stupid, infinitely stupid, and then there’s the people who purchased Iraqi Dinar thinking millions are waiting just around the bend.  It’s a whole new level of stupid, but hey, this is America and apparently the internet and google are not as widely used by my family and friends who were taken by this scam.

And the proof is in the pudding … take your massive amount of Iraqi Dinar to any bank in the United States of America and try to convert it to USD.  You can’t because this money has NO VALUE OUTSIDE OF IRAQ.  And in Iraq, they use USD because it’s easier and people can’t carry around 1,000,000 IQD, the equivalent of a 20 dollar bill in Iraq, its just easier to carry around a $20.

Amazinglyleet 2013 NFL Predictions Revisited

December 29, 2013 | Posted in NFL | By

1.  The Cleveland Browns make the playoffs with a home game for the first time since 1994.

Nope.  Missed big on that one.

2.  The Baltimore Ravens miss the playoffs for the first time in the Joe Flacco era.

Spot on.  In what amounted to a play in game for the Ravens, Flacco threw 3 interceptions.  Get use to years of mediocrity in Baltimore with Flacco at the helm through 2020.

3.  Geno Smith is the starting QB for the NY Jets week 5 on Monday Night Football against the Falcons.

Spot on.  Smith threw 3 TDs in this game, dropping Atlanta to 1-4.  Rex Ryan comes back next year, that was a garbage team he took to 8-8.  Hey, that’s 2 outta 3 correct predictions.

4.  Tim Tebow has an All-Pro Season at TE.

Nope.  He didn’t even play in the NFL this year.  Guy must not be able to catch or run routes.

5.  Aaron Dobson, Jake Ballard, Danny Amendola, Michael Jenkins, and LaVelle Hawkins will be household names at the end of the season.

Aaron Dobson started some weeks on fantasy football teams, Amendola was hurt most of the year, and none of these other guys emerged.  The real star was Julian Edelman who turned in a 100 catch, 1000 yard season.  Hard to believe New England went 12-4 with what they lost on the defensive side of the ball, namely Vince Wolfork and Jared Mayo, let alone the turnover at the receiver position.  How far does this team go in the playoffs?

6.  Trent Richardson leads the NFL in rushing.

Nope.  And, he got traded.  There’s a lot of people who missed on this guy, including Indianapolis.

7.  The Cincinnati Bengals miss the playoffs.

Nope.  They went 11-5 and won the division and host San Diego in the first week of NFL playoff action.  Even if you win this game Bungles, you’re not winning in New England.

8.  The Seattle Seahawks miss the playoffs.

Nope.  They went 13-3, are the #1 seed in the NFC and they’re going to be very difficult to beat in Seattle.  They’re the most complete team on both sides of the ball.

9.  Colin Kaepernick rushes for 1,037 yards.

Nope.  Not even close.  He rushed for 5oo yards.

10.  LaMichael James leads the 49ers in rushing.

Nope.  James was hurt most of the year.  And Frank Gore is an ageless wonder.  He’s 30, it seems like he’s been running in San Francisco forever and a day.

11. CJ2K returns to form.

Debatable.  Close to 1500 yards from scrimmage, 10 TDs.

12.  The Denver Broncos receiving corps breaks all kinds of team receiving records.

Spot on.  Manning set the record for TD passes in a season, passing yards in a season, and the Broncos are the first team to score 600 points during the regular season.

13.  Matt Cassell leads the Vikings to the playoffs.

Nope.  Although Cassell was the most viable of the Viking QBs this season.  Blake Bortles, Brett Hundley, Johnny Manziel, Derek Carr, whichever of you doesn’t get picked by Cleveland, you’re heading to Minnesota!

14.  NFC Playoff Teams.  San Francisco, Green Bay, Atlanta, New York Giants, New Orleans, Minnesota.

I correctly picked 3 outta 6.  50%.  Seattle, Carolina (congratulations Ron Rivera, you’re not getting fired), and Dallas/Philadelphia were the ones I missed.

15.  AFC Playoff Teams.  New England, Cleveland, Houston, Denver, Pittsburgh, Tennessee.

I correctly picked 2 outta 6, 33%.  Indianapolis, San Diego, Kansas City, Cincinnati were the ones I missed.  This is why the NFL is impossible to prognosticate, Houston finished 2-14 and has the #1 pick in the NFL draft.  Who saw that coming?

16.  Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, RGIII win fantasy football leagues for owners who recognize this the new NFL.

The read option was a flavor of the month.  Peyton Manning won fantasy football leagues this year.

17.  Larry Fitzgerald returns to All Pro Form.

Nope.  80 catch, just shy of a 1,000 yard season, 10 TDs.

18.  Stevie Johnson continues to be a fantasy football stalwart.

Nope.  He was hurt most of the year.

19.  The healthy St. Louis Rams RB produces more yards from scrimmage than Steven Jackson.

Spot on.  Steven Jackson, 640 yards from scrimmage.  Zac Stacy, 1000 yards rushing season and 1300 yards from scrimmage.

20.  Maybe 10 people in the world read these predictions.

Spot on.

So, perhaps 5 of my 20 predictions were correct.

PvErs

October 9, 2013 | Posted in World of WarCraft | By

One of the most interesting aspects of World of WarCraft, at least to me, is the fact it’s basically two games in one … PvE and PvP.  I make comments that I’m one of the most complete players in WoW because I down 25 man bosses and have all the PvP gear, and some halfway decent achievements, like 1750 in 2s, 1550 in 3s, 1700 in rbgs, in PvP.  I also make constructive arguments that I know my class better than someone who only does PvE, the thesis of the argument being if you are strictly a PvEr, then you are only playing HALF the game of WoW and therefore only HALF as skilled at your class as you could be if you played 100% of the game … this would include PvP.  But, so many people just don’t have the mentality, personality, guile, and other attributes to be on the receiving end of something like this:

Because getting better at PvP and getting 1550 in Arena 2 v 2 requires being defeated an awful lot and learning how to COMPLETELY play your class.  It requires interface optimization.  It requires practice.  It requires knowing the other guys class.  And in Mists of Pandaria, it requires a second set of gear … so World of Logs PvEr … the kind of guy who puts up top 20 numbers in the world, you really wanna impress me?  Get the 1550 achievement in 2s and maybe then you’ll be half as complete as I am because I have the same achievement (1550) in Arena 3s.  PvEr, you don’t even have what it takes to get the gear required to even begin doing arenas to even TRY for the achievement because you gotta slug it out in random bgs for the honor and you’re already 4 weeks behind for Arena Season 14 because guys like me already have the weapons and you can’t handle the beating you’re gonna take.

I raid and down 25 man bosses.  Artificial Intelligence on a sequence of events you can anticipate.  It’s a whole different story when a free thinking human being is shooting back AND you have to communicate with your partner.  So PvEr, make your excuses … I don’t like WoW PvP, it’s imbalanced, whatever, until you have 1550 in 2s, you only know HALF your class capabilities.  Facts are facts and don’t argue.  And, it’s okay to be jealous.  I too pull 300k dps in Siege of Orgrimmar.  Where’s your 2v2 1550 arena achievement?

2013 Cleveland Indians

August 5, 2013 | Posted in Sports | By

It’s not a matter if the Cleveland Indians are going to the playoffs, its a matter if they’re going as a wild card or a division winner.  And really their season hinges on this guy.

The Indians lost tonight to the Detroit Tigers 4-2 in the first of a crucial 4 game set, at home.  Entering tonight, the Indians were 3 games back of the AL Central Leading Tigers.  With the loss, they are now 4 games back in the division and a three way tie for basically what amounts to a 1 game playoff to go to the playoffs.  This is the second year of the 1 game playoff to decide the true wildcard representative for the American League.  A 1 game playoff would be huge for the city of Cleveland and northern Ohio as a whole.  Chris Perez blew his 3rd save of the season giving up a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 9th inning to some scrub catcher.  Closer by committee is where this team is heading.  But it doesn’t matter because the Cleveland Indians are going to the playoffs.

I think of the 2010 Giants when I think of the 2013 Indians.  One can always dream and if the Indians do go to the playoffs, maybe you read it here first.  And this is the reason I don’t write about sports, you actually have to watch the game to write about it intelligently.   I caught the end of this game while playing trivia at a local bar, I do go out every once in a while and socialize amongst the people.

Please come back to Cleveland next year Lebron.  I know it will be a shitty thing to do to Miami after winning a 3rd straight championship.  This is about 7 rings.  You need to go to the place that gives you the best chance to win.  The Cavs drafted Anthony Bennett to be everything Chris Bosh isn’t and present another 3 year championship run.  Maybe this will be a lot easier when a Derrick Rose led Chicago Bulls oust you in the playoffs when Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer, your old buddy LeBron, expose how Chris Bosh is no Horace Grant or Dennis Rodman.  Bring a championship home LeBron.  It’s your destiny.

Amazingly Leet 2013 NFL Predictions

August 1, 2013 | Posted in NFL | By

Believe it or not, there are things I do and enjoy outside of WoW.  What did you do last summer between 3 Jul and 19 Sep 2013?  I went to Europe.  I love NFL football.  Mostly because of my fantasy football league which is entering it’s 19th season.  We scored our teams from the Newspaper on Monday’s, sites like www.rtsports.com were forward thinking pioneers.  Here are some out on the limb crazy predictions for the 2013 NFL Season.

1.  The Cleveland Browns make the playoffs with a home game for the first time since 1994 when Bill Belichick was head coach.  In 1995, when the Browns announced they were leaving for Baltimore, Kid Genius had duped some team out of their first round pick (does that sound familiar, the New England Patriots with multiple first round picks?) for the 1996 draft.  The new Baltimore Ravens would use this pick on Ray Lewis (they used their own pick on Jonathan Ogden) and the rest is history.  Talk about the right guy at the wrong time.  The Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland sports in general, are truly cursed.  Please come back next year LeBron.

2.  The Baltimore Ravens miss the playoffs for the first time in the Joe Flacco era.  Flacco got paid, but the Ravens defense that won two Super Bowls, is gone.

3.  Geno Smith is the starting QB for the NY Jets week 5 on Monday Night Football against the Falcons.  He’ll probably win the job outright because Mark “Sanchize” Sanchez is terrible and Rex Ryan’s team is playing for his job.

4.  Tim Tebow has an All-Pro Season at TE.  And the Patriots only have to carry two quarterbacks.  Kid Genius.

5.  Aaron Dobson, Jake Ballard, Danny Amendola, Michael Jenkins, and LaVelle Hawkins will be household names at the end of the season.  Tom Brady will make you famous.

6.  Trent Richardson leads the NFL in rushing.  It will be extremely interesting to see how the new rule affects rushing yards this season.  And, Norv Turner has been coaching 1500 yard running backs for a long time.  Emmitt Smith, LaDainian Tomlinson, Ricky Williams and Trent Richardson.  Coach Turner adds to his collection of 1,800 yard backs.

7.  The Cincinnati Bengals miss the playoffs.  Come on Bungles fans, are you really that excited about Andy Dalton?

8.  The Seattle Seahawks miss the playoffs.  As long as Pete Carroll is at the helm, this team is going nowhere.  The Vikings duped him out of a first round pick for Percy Harvin, who will be out until December.  If he plays at all this year.  And, I never buy into a year of work, I’m all  about a body of work, when it comes to Russell Wilson.

9.  Colin Kaepernick rushes for 1,037 yards.  That would be a record from the QB position.  The guy is like a gazelle and even though the read option is on film for 10 or so games, it will be difficult to stop.  Anyone who lived in Reno, Nevada between 2007 and 2010, isn’t surprised at all by his burst onto the scene.  I told a friend when he got drafted the guy was going to win a Super Bowl.  It happens this year.

10.  LaMichael James leads the 49ers in rushing.  Kaepernick and his starting RB at University of Nevada-Reno, Vai Tua, finished their careers as the all time leading rushing duo in division I college football.  They bested the previous record held by The Pony Craig James and Eric Dickerson at SMU.

11.  CJ2K returns to form.  Running behind Chance Warmack.  And a slew of other upgrades to the offensive line.  Kenny Britt plays, Jake Locker is serviceable, and the guy has something to prove.  This is way under the radar 2nd/3rd round pick in fantasy football.

12.  The Denver Broncos receiving corps breaks all kinds of team receiving records.  Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, and Wes Welker create a match-up nightmare for any team.  Peyton Manning starts 16 games, just like he has every year in his career, minus the year he sat out to get healthy to try for another super bowl.  It’s amazing a guy with a career post season record of 9-10 is mentioned as one of the greatest ever.  Denver plays San Francisco for the super bowl, assuming he doesn’t meet Tom Brady in the playoffs.  New England makes the playoffs because of Brady and they play in the AFC Least.

13.  Matt Cassell leads the Vikings to the playoffs.  Teams will dare Christian Ponder to beat them.  He won’t.

14.  NFC Playoff Teams.  San Francisco, Green Bay, Atlanta, New York Giants, New Orleans, Minnesota.  I think it is more interesting to talk about the teams not on this list.  Seattle, read above.  Dallas, bye bye Jason Garrett.  Bye Ron Rivera.

15.  AFC Playoff Teams.  New England, Cleveland, Houston, Denver, Pittsburgh, Tennessee.  Again, the teams NOT on the list.  Bye Rex Ryan.

16.  Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Russell Wilson, RGIII win fantasy football leagues for owners who recognize this the new NFL.

17.  Larry Fitzgerald returns to All Pro Form.  Please be available in the 3rd round at pick 27 in my 1o team fantasy league after I take Trent Richardson at 7 and Matt Forte at Pick 14.   Do we really live in a world where I can get Tom Brady in the fourth round of a fantasy football draft?

18.  Stevie Johnson continues to be a fantasy football stalwart.  The kind of guy who always gets rostered with RGIII, Kaepernick, et. al, and somebody has to catch 70 passes.  Find me an NFL team that didn’t have 1 player who caught at least 70 passes in 2012.  How many did he have?  69?

19.  The healthy St. Louis Rams RB produces more yards from scrimmage than Steven Jackson.  Isaiah Pead and Daryl Richardson, one of those 2 is going to be a household name by the end of the season.  Steven Jackson will be over valued, based on name, and Atlanta still has Quizz Rodgers who will earn his touches.  The days of the 20+ carry a game back are over, unless your name is Trent Richardson, Maurice Jones Drew, or Adrian Peterson.  Find me more teams that has a true Every Down Back.

20.  Maybe 10 people in the world read these predictions.

Thanks to those who have read the site so far.  I bet you’re better at PvP if you found this site and optimized your interface for World of WarCraft PvP.

Frost Mage Mastery Change – Patch 5.4

July 23, 2013 | Posted in World of WarCraft | By

Gearing a new toon, or an alt, in World of WarCraft Patch 5.3, to iLvl 480 (the magic number for the new LFR) is what you want to get in order to que for the newest raid, Throne of Thunder.  I finished leveling a Death Knight to 90, so this makes 3 characters I intend to PvP with in Season 14, and I was not so concerned about doing LFR, as I was about getting the iLvl 476 honor gear, which requires approximately 20,000 honor points for all 15 pieces.  Its a painful process, especially queing solo.

I got tired of oqueue so I completely uninstalled it.  My 3s team has real life going on but we think we’re going to give 2200 rated in battlegrounds a serious go.  As well as 2s and maybe 3s.  Our goal is to be better than we were in season 13.  And we were a lot better in season 13 than in season 12.  There’s maybe another 5 weeks left in the season and maybe another 5 weeks left in the Frost Mage’s run as the #1 class in Mists of Pandaria.

This is from the PTR Patch Notes:  Updated 18 July 2013:  From the Mage section, after the part about our bombs hitting harder, to try and help compensate for the change listed below, and the part about where they are trying to get me to use different glyphs, um no thanks blinking out of a stun is just too important.  It could be sad times in Pandaria for the Frost Mage, the class and spec that has  been flat out winning MoP.  PvE and PvP.

Frost

Mastery: Frostburn has been replaced by Mastery: Icicles. When the Mage damages an enemy with their Frostbolt, Frostfire Bolt, and the Water Elemental’s Waterbolt, (12% + 1.5% per Mastery) of the damage done is stored as an Icicle for 15 seconds. Up to 5 Icicles can be stored at once. Casting Ice Lance launches all stored Icicles at the target.

– Frostbolt no longer causes the target to take an additional damage from Frostbolt.
– Ice Lance damage has been increased by 29%.
Water Elemental
Waterbolt damage hasbeen increased by 9%.

I don’t know what this really means other than spinning frozen orb into a crowd and spamming Ice Lance with Fingers of Frost proc sounds like a thing of the past.  🙁

Multi Boxers

July 8, 2013 | Posted in World of WarCraft | By

Have you been in a random battleground and seen a MultiBoxer?

A MultiBoxer is someone like this guy who pays for 10 separate WoW accounts ($16 a month each) and then has some kind of AddOn to control the 1o toons as a single entity.  I heard stories of a 40 account MultiBoxing Shaman who was banned.  Hey Blizzard, is this like a pink elephant in the room?  Technically its a violation of ToS, but hey, are you really going to ban $160 a month?

Frost Mage Nerf – It’s Coming [5.4]

July 7, 2013 | Posted in World of WarCraft | By

It’s with great sadness I present this video on the certainty of Frost Mage nerf or nerfs coming in Patch 5.4, which will coincide with Arena Season 14.   Release date for Mists of Pandaria Patch 5.4, Siege of Orgrimmar, based on experience, will be September 3rd, 2013 and I read somewhere there is a change to Frostburn.  Frostburn is the passive ability associated with Mastery for Frost Mages and it increases damage against targets “considered” frozen.  Unlike a fire mage, who depends on their melee range root to hold long enough to have their target actually frozen to perform a Shatter, the one thing that has always made a Frost Mage a Frost Mage.  Why are fire mages trying to execute abilities designed for Frost Specialization?  Because they want the critical strike boost associated with the Shatter ability for their PyroBlasts.  Most Fire Mages I’ve personally Pwnd utilize FrostJaw, at the expense of Ring of Frost (you can’t have both), because they want the root to be able to Deep Freeze the target and Spam 3 Instant Pyroblasts in a row and perform a Shatter, where these PyroBlasts are all critical strikes.   How many times have you been in a situation where a mage that did not have Ring of Frost was needed or wanted for any kind of organized battleground engagment?

Note to Fire Mages – 6 instant cast spells > 3 instant cast spells.  And Fire Mage, riddle me this … how many times have you successfully executed a Deep Freeze Shatter with Pyroblast?  I execute 6 instant cast spells with Time Warp (Fire Mage, you gotta use Time Warp to get 3 Instant PyroBlasts in a row as well) all the time.  4 Fingers of Frost Ice Lance and 2 BrainFreeze FrostFire Bolts.

My mastery is currently at 72.46% increased damage against targets considered frozen.  This is all +320 Mastery Gems, a PvE trinket with massive hit, which allows me to get mastery gear (bracers and cloak) instead of hit gear.  You see in this video, that much Mastery = OP.

And fire mage, you missed some kind of important meeting at the beginning of MoP where they talked about Frost Mages = Winning in 5.0 and beyond yet you’ve never learned the spec because it was always considered the “PvP” spec.  And we all know the difficulty in learning a new rotation so you’ve spent 10 months now missing out on the absolute most fabulous class of bitch slap in the history of World of WarCraft – The Mists of Pandaria Frost Mage, whether it be PvE or PvP.

Diffuse Magic v. Dampen Harm – Patch 5.3

July 3, 2013 | Posted in World of WarCraft | By

This is video proof as Windwalker Monk the talent choice of Diffuse Magic > Expel Harm.  As Windwalker Monk, you have other counters for melee (Ring of Peace, a ranged disarm (OP)) plus Touch of Karma.  With the glyph, Touch of Karma can work against casters, however, you need something a little extra.  Diffuse Magic does the job.  I eat mages on my WindWalker monk.  You can too, Diffuse Magic > Expel Harm.

Strand of The Ancients – Patch 5.3

June 28, 2013 | Posted in World of WarCraft | By

It was Strand of the Ancients Call to Arms during the week, Tuesday – Friday, one of the subtle changes I noticed is there are 2 Call To Arms battlegrounds per server week (Tuesday – Friday, Friday – Monday).  If Blizzard allowed you to block 3 battlegrounds from being chosen, I’m not sure I would select Strand of the Ancients because there is no BG more entertaining than starting on defense and farming Noobs at Yellow Gate for 10 minutes, racking up 100 honorable kills as they foolishly send wave after wave of their own men and demolishers.

One of the keys to farming Noobs at Yellow Gate for 10 minutes is preventing their initial surge from 3 demoing either Green Gate or Blue Gate.  Solid Players will sit middle beach then assist the side needing the most help.  Once their initial surge is defeated, defend the graveyard for as long as you can.  However, you have to be wary of the other side of the map, once a graveyard goes on either side, graveyard defense should be over and you need to assemble at yellow gate to commence 10 minute farming.

Another key is using the portals.  That’s why they are there, they transport you behind the gate if it still stands, and to the next gate if it is knocked down.  This applies to either side, meaning if green gate and purple gate are standing, while blue and purple are down, then you can take the portal all the way from Green gate to Yellow Gate.  It’s quite fabulous.  I laugh every time I see people chasing demo’s on foot when they can easily use the portals.  I bet half the people who play Strands don’t even know there are portals to assist you in farming Noobs at Yellow Gate for 10 minutes.

When you’re on Offense, drive the demo’s like a pro and make sure you get the graveyards on both sides.
